USAOBSTACLE COURSE RACING

Sanctioning

USAOCR sanctioned means that that race planning and preparation meets the requirements established by USAOCR for medical, emergency, safety, obstacles, communication and volunteer support and will conduct the event according to the USAOCR Rules.

A USAOCR sanctioned event signifies that the race director has completed a thorough review of the course and obstacles, and has evaluated and planned for reasonable eventualities while preparing and directing the race. Among the materials submitted for USAOCR for review and approval are safety plans, course maps and event details. The process is designed so it can be adjusted for changes and effectively integrated as a planning tool for race directors.

The following documents and plans are submitted by the race director for review by USAOCR:

  • Detailed course maps
  • Course details
  • Event plans
  • Security
  • Festival area design
  • Emergency and medical plan
  • Rules Enforcement
  • USAOCR membership and waiver signature check

USAOCR annual or one-day membership requirements:

  • All adult participants in sanctioned events must have a valid USAOCR annual or one-day membership
  • Ensures all participants have signed a USAOCR waiver

Post race documents must be postmarked to USAOCR within 15 business days of the event and include the following:

  • Event Reporting form
  • USAOCR memberships verified with photo ID
